Pierce Atwood LLP announced the 4 nonprofit organizations that will take part in the Portland, Maine law firm’s 4th annual day of community service. The organizations will receive approximately 1,200 hours of volunteer labor from 200 attorneys and staff, from building fences to clearing trails, on July 20. The organizations benefiting from the firm’s community outreach include Crossroads for Women’s Residential Rehabilitation and CAMP (Chidren And Mothers Program) facility in Windham; Camp Ketcha in Scarborough; Riding to the Top Therapeutic Riding Center also in Windham; and St. Brigid School in Portland.
The grounds and buildings at the Crossroads for Women Windham facility will undergo a beautification effort as the attorneys and staff clean up the gardens, paint interiors and build an enclosed area for bikes and toys.
The efforts of the day will help Crossroads for Women to continue to offer a comfortable, nurturing atmosphere where women and their children can begin their new lives in recovery from alcohol and drug abuse.
Crossroads for Women’s mission is to address substance abuse and other behavioral health issues so that women and their families can live healthy and independent lives. To accomplish this mission, the organization needs the continued support of the community around it.
