Following are the outpatient therapy and educational groups at Crossroads Maine’s counseling centers in Kennebunk and Scarborough. All groups are geared specifically to women or men and are held in a comfortable, discreet environment. Crossroads accepts MaineCare, Medicare, private insurance and self-pay.

Outpatient Therapy and Educational Group Descriptions:

The Effects of Addiction on Friends & Family 4-Week Educational Series Crossroads offers The Effects of Addiction on Friends & Family 4-Week Educational Series to anyone who has a loved one with a substance abuse problem, male or female, who may or may not be in treatment. Those working with people affected by addiction will also find this series helpful. The 4-week series covers: The Basics of Addiction, The Effects of Addiction on the User & Family & Friends, Relapse & Recovery, and The Do’s & Don’ts. The next series is scheduled to run in the Spring of 2018. Please call for more information. Sessions begin at 5:30pm and conclude at 7pm. Call today to register – space is limited.

Affected Others Recovery Group Living in a household or family impacted by addiction can be difficult to talk about, and even more difficult to figure out what to do as you watch a son, daughter, spouse, partner, or friend go downhill.  This group will give you a place to talk about this and draw on the experience of professionals and others who have been dealing with this seemingly insolvable problem.  Group is held each Wednesday at 4:30pm beginning April 11, 2018. Men’s Early Recovery Group For men recovering from alcohol and drug use problems, this group will help you find your way to a satisfying recovery.  By helping you learn methods to deal with cravings, stress and relationship problems, this counseling group will allow you to discover fulfillment and contentment that leads to a healthy and stable life in recovery. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Crossroads’ IOP Group is a structured group therapy option that provides substance abuse treatment 5 days per week at 3 hours a day. Gender-specific treatment issues are explored in IOP Groups with an emphasis on addiction education, co-occurring mental health issues, coping skills, relapse prevention and the necessary tools for recovery. Total length of treatment varies, but is typically 6 weeks.
