Group Therapy Program

At Crossroads, our group therapy program is here to help you realize that you aren’t alone in your struggle with achieving and maintaining a sober lifestyle. We work to create an environment in which our clients feel safe to share. Our group therapy program allows clients to learn from one another. At Crossroads, we create a sense of community among our clients and therapists/ counselors.

Following are the outpatient therapy and educational groups at Crossroads’ counseling center in Scarborough. We understand that it can be nerve-wracking to share your story with others. All groups cater specifically to women or men. We understand the importance of holding groups in a comfortable, discreet environment. Crossroads accepts MaineCare, Medicare, private insurance, and self-pay.

Women’s Aftercare Group

While you’re in IOP, you may make plans that feel foolproof for your aftercare. When real-life sets in, things can get complicated. At Crossroads, we recognize this and want to continue to provide you with the support you need to be successful. The Aftercare Group (TAG) provides supportive group counseling once a week with an emphasis on encouraging the development of the fulfillment, accountability, and self-care that can lead to sustained, stable recovery. Themes of the group counseling may include: warnings signs to interrupt relapse, developing healthy relationships, assertive communication, emotional regulation skills, self-sufficiency and independence, managing stress, and sober fun. This group is for women who have recently completed an IOP, residential or both and for women with one month or more of sobriety looking for support.
